The safety assessment of novel foods (2)
In the context of European Regulation 258/97 the Committee on the Safety Assessment of Novel Foods (VNV) carried out a large number of dossier assessments from 1999 to 2004. On 1 January 2005 its work has been transferred to the Medicines Evaluation Board Agency. To conclude its activities at the Health Council the Committee has issued an advisory report on topics associated with the implementation of the regulation and on developments in the field.
The current composition of the VNV can be found on the website of the Medicines Evaluation Board’s Novel Foods Unit: http://www.nieuwevoedings-middelen.nl.
