Advisory letter Electromagnetic fields and health

Exposure to the electromagnetic fields generated by mobile telephony systems is an issue that exercises many people’s minds. There is a constant flow of new scientific articles on this topic. The Council’s Electromagnetic Fields Committee is studying this matter, and will issue an advisory report in due course. In advance of a more extensive analysis, the Minister of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment has asked the Council to provide a brief initial response to three scientific articles that have been cited in the course of the social debate.  The Minister also asked the Health Council to indicate whether the results of these studies could be expected to provide grounds for amending previous conclusions relating to possible health effects associated with mobile telephony.
