Q fever: risk of transmission via blood or other body material

To answer the question whether testing of blood donors for Q fever is necessary more research is needed. The Health Council of the Netherlands advises to look into the costs and benefits of such testing before making the decision. In the case of organ donation measures are necessary to prohibit transmission of Q fever.
