At the request of the Minister of Social Affairs and Employment, the Health Council of the Netherlands recommends health-based occupational exposure limits for existing substances in the air in the workplace. These recommendations are made by the Council’s Dutch Expert Committee on Occupational Safety (DECOS).
In this advisory report, the Committee discusses the consequences of occupational exposure to aerosols of mineral oils and of metalworking fluids containing mineral oils and recommends health-based occupational exposure limits for these aerosols of 1.6 mg/m3 and 0.1 mg/m3, respectively. Occupational exposure to concentrations below these levels will prevent health effects.
